Eric Musgrove County Historian Last week, we began discussing T. T. Scott. We continue this week. Scott’s civic affairs spread to the state level. He was appointed to the Board of Control during the administration of Governor Fred Cone (1937-1941), serving through successors Spessard Holland and part of Millard Caldwell’s administration before he resigned. Scott worked to improve student conditions in colleges and universities. He became a trustee of Florida Southern College in Lakeland and was awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree by it.
