Florida Attorney General flags Winter Haven for complaints of homeless public camping, sleeping

POLK COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — The Florida Attorney General’s Office is raising concerns that the City of Winter Haven may be violatinga state law related to public camping and sleeping.

In a written notice of violation sent to the city, Attorney General James Uthmeier cites resident complaints alleging people are camping or sleeping overnight at Kiwanis Park and along sidewalks on Central Avenue.
