Avelo Airlines announced plans on Jan. 6 to expand its presence at Lakeland Linder International Airport as the carrier undergoes a strategic reorganization.
Avelo plans to move two additional aircraft to Lakeland Linder airport and create more than 40 additional jobs. These planes will be Boeing Next-Generation 737-800s, which are known for their fuel efficiency and capacity to seat up to 189 passengers.
“Central Florida and Lakeland will play an increasing key role in Avelo’s network, underscoring the region’s strategic value and the airline’s expanding investment in local travelers and crewmembers,” Avelo spokeswoman Courtney Goff said in a news release…
