SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – A 40-year-old gang leader convicted of directing a criminal operation that included robberies, home invasions and attempted murder now faces five potential life sentences.
Hernando Thompson, whose nickname is “T-Murda,” served as the head of the Sex Money Murder Gang for Florida, according to Attorney General James Huthmire and Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.
The conviction resulted from a wiretap investigation called “Catch and Stain” that targeted the gang’s hierarchy. Law enforcement seized 4,787 communications discussing criminal conduct, served six search warrants, confiscated $1.5 million in drugs, 18 firearms and ballistic armor…
