While at least 10 degrees away from a record low, a cold front moving over Polk County overnight starting Jan. 14 is forecasted to bring below freezing temperatures by the morning of Jan. 16.
The National Weather Service in Ruskin has already placed Polk County under a freeze watch, and that is expected to be upgraded to a freeze warning by Jan. 15, according to meteorologist Nicole Carlisle of the National Weather Service in Ruskin.
