Woman allegedly steals $30 worth of groceries using self-checkout at Walmart

A Davenport woman will appear in court for stealing $30 worth of groceries from Walmart.

An asset protection employee of Walmart, located at 550 U.S. Hwy. 27, Clermont, saw 60-year-old Jennifer Salazar Rossi using a self-checkout register around 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, according to a case report from the Lake County Shieriff’s Office.

The employee noticed she was bypassing the scanner entirely, claiming she looked around before putting chicken near the scanner but not the barcode. She then put it in the bagging area. Salazar Rossi later stated she was simply tired and forgot to scan what she was holding, the report said…
