Overnight Inferno: Couple Escapes Winter Haven House Fire Unharmed

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – A Winter Haven couple is safe today after a frightening fire tore through their home in the middle of the night.

Winter Haven firefighters rushed to the scene on Prestwick Place just before 1 a.m. on January 24, 2026. When the first trucks pulled up, the manufactured home was already heavily involved, with flames clearly visible from the street.

Fortunately, the two people inside—a man and a woman—both had managed to get out of the burning house safely. Officials confirmed there were no injuries.

Firefighters attacked the blaze from the ground while using ladder trucks to hit the flames from above. Although they were able to get the main fire under control, the fire had crept into the “void spaces”—the hollow areas inside the walls and roof—forcing crews to stay on scene and chase down hotspots to prevent the fire from sparking back up…
