The Polk County Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide unit is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred at 5:45 a.m. Jan. 31 on Deen Still Road at Wheeler Road in Davenport.
The crash involved a Freightliner semi-truck pulling a trailer driven by a 21-year-old Georgia man, and a 2018 Nissan Sentra driven by a 61-year-old Zephyrhills man, a Sheriff’s Office news release said.
The semi-truck had just pulled out of the sand mine entrance at Wheeler Road and was stretched across Deen Still and attempted to turn west when the Nissan, which was heading east on Deen Still, struck and then went under the trailer…
