AUBURNDALE, Florida – A jury has found Kyle Robert Herrington guilty of second-degree murder in the 2023 shooting death of Porchia Crossley in Auburndale, FL, following a trial that concluded Jan. 31, 2026.
The shooting occurred on Oct. 11, 2023, at approximately 8:45 a.m. in the area of 217 Century Boulevard. Officers with the Auburndale Police Department responded to reports of a shooting and found Crossley lying on the pavement with multiple gunshot wounds to the head. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said Herrington identified himself as the shooter and was still on the phone with 911 when officers arrived. He was secured and transported from the scene, where he later told detectives the shooting was justified under Florida’s Stand Your Ground law…
