Lake Mary Man Caught Weeks After I-4 High-Speed Polk County Escape

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A 35-year-old Lake Mary man is behind bars after a series of encounters with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office that began with a high-speed getaway in January and ended in handcuffs last Tuesday. David Morris Reback faces multiple charges following two separate incidents on Interstate 4 that pitted his desire to stay out of prison against a persistent law enforcement effort.

The saga started on the afternoon of January 20. At approximately 4:00 p.m., a deputy spotted Reback’s black 2019 Nissan sedan traveling westbound on I-4 near Lakeland. When the deputy attempted a traffic stop, the Nissan initially refused to pull over.
