Lakeland’s Larry R. Jackson library has a major upgrade coming

One of Lakeland’s public libraries is getting a glow up —and will be better lit for the public’s use.

The Larry R. Jackson Branch Library at 1700 N. Florida Ave., will begin major renovations to its lighting and public restrooms shortly, according to city librarian Stephanie Brown. The project has gone out for bid, but no date has been set for construction to begin.
