Door-to-Door Solicitor Shot Multiple Times in Tampa Bay, Suspect Arrested

BRANDON, Florida – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Brandon man accused of shooting a door-to-door solicitor following a confrontation in a residential neighborhood.

Deputies responded around 8 p.m. on February 18, 2026, to a shooting call in the area of Fluorshire Drive at the Providence Townhomes community. When deputies arrived, they located a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his lower body and immediately began lifesaving aid. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to investigators, the victim and a female co-worker were going door-to-door selling telecommunications products and services when 38-year-old Reginald McGee allegedly became verbally aggressive toward the female employee.
