A Lakeland man was arrested for reckless driving after speeding past a deputy at 106 mph.
A deputy observed 68-year-old Ron Carey Lestourgeon speeding in a 60-mph zone on State Road 471 in Webster around 12:20 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. Radar showed he was going 106 mph in a blue 2026 Subaru Crosstrek, which slowed to 96 mph as he passed the deputy and hit the brakes.
Lestourgeon was subsequently stopped and arrested for reckless driving at 100 mph or more. He was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $500 bond…
