An Eagle Lake woman is facing multiple felony charge

An Eagle Lake woman is facing multiple felony charges after investigators say she carried out a scheme to defraud her employer of more than $28,000.

According to an arrest affidavit, Shawna Leanne Holley is accused of manipulating payroll and accounting records while working in a human resources role. Investigators allege she altered employee loan repayment entries, issued herself an unauthorized $3,100 bonus and a $4,500 commission payment, overpaid herself more than $10,000 in unearned paid time off, and obtained company equipment through false representations.

The affidavit states internal audits uncovered discrepancies in payroll and accounting records, and audit logs reportedly traced the changes to Holley’s unique user credentials. Bank records allegedly confirmed deposits corresponding with the questioned payroll entries. The total documented loss in the investigation is listed as $28,503.56.
