LAKLEAND, Fla. – A Sunday night blaze at a mobile home on Pine Ridge Drive turned fatal, claiming the life of one resident while another managed to escape the flames. The Lakeland Fire Department arrived at the scene around 9:45 PM Sunday to find a heavy fire tearing through the carport area of the residence.
Initial reports suggested that two people might be trapped inside the burning home. Firefighters immediately pushed into the structure to begin search and rescue operations while simultaneously battling the intense heat.
