BRANDON, Fla. – Authorities have taken a husband and wife into custody following a deadly confrontation at a Brandon apartment complex earlier this week. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office announced on Tuesday that 47-year-old James Sidney Llanos and 39-year-old Lizeina Marie Cepeda are now facing murder charges in connection with the shooting death of their subtenant.
Investigators report that the couple had been subletting an apartment on the 1800 block of Lake Chapman Drive to 30-year-old Travon Jackson.
On March 9, 2026, Llanos and Cepeda went to the residence with the intent to evict Jackson. According to detectives, a physical altercation broke out once the couple entered the home, culminating in Llanos shooting Jackson. Jackson died from his injuries at the scene…
