POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Lake Wales man is behind bars after a four-day search ended with a failed escape attempt through the woods late Tuesday night. Nicholas Daniels, 42, was taken into custody by Polk County Sheriff’s deputies on charges stemming from a motorcycle theft reported earlier this week.
The investigation began on March 13, when a victim contacted the Polk County Sheriff’s Office to report that his motorcycle had been stolen. The bike was taken from a friend’s home in Lake Wales. Based on witness identification, investigators named Daniels as the primary suspect in the burglary and theft.
