POLK COUNTY, Fla. – Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd and Bartow Police Chief Stephen Walker held a joint briefing Friday morning, March 27, 2026, to provide details regarding the death of 56-year-old Jeffrey Lee Blevins. The investigation began late Thursday night following a report of a violent incident outside an apartment complex on North Wilson Avenue.
According to authorities, Blevins was outside his residence—an apartment he shared with his sister—speaking to his mother on the telephone shortly after 11:00 p.m. Sheriff Judd stated that during the call, Blevins’ mother heard him fall to the ground.
