WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — Like clockwork each month, for many women, the need for feminine products is inevitable.
“Over 2 billion women across the world have a period. It’s a natural, healthy process that everybody goes through. Why aren’t these supplies provided to them?” resident Lyndsey Venrick said.
Instead of waiting for solutions, Venrick and her team created Polk County’s first period pantry — a grassroots effort aimed at making these essential products free and accessible.
“We don’t have time to wait for the government or aid to come through, so we started a community effort to bring supplies to the people who need them the most,” she said…
