POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Lakeland man who has already served two terms in state prison is back behind bars after a routine traffic stop on Interstate 4. Jose Enrique Navarro Jr., 28, was arrested near Exit 28 around 5:30 p.m. on March 17, after a Polk County Sheriff’s deputy discovered he was operating a vehicle with a suspended license.
The deputy was patrolling eastbound when a check on a Mercedes-Benz revealed the registered owner’s driving privileges had been revoked.
Upon stopping the car, the deputy confirmed Navarro was the driver. Investigators say Navarro was immediate in his admission, stating, “I know I can’t drive, but I was heading home from work. I’ve got a court date coming up soon for my DUI.”…
