Lakeland duo pleads guilty to Hobbs Act robberies in Tampa

TAMPA, Florida — Andres Correa and Cassandra Kerr, both from Lakeland, have pleaded guilty to a series of Hobbs Act robberies that took place in August 2025.

Correa, a 39-year-old, admitted to four Hobbs Act robberies, four counts of brandishing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, possessing a firearm as a convicted felon, and conspiring to commit the robberies. Kerr, a 46-year-old, pleaded guilty to two counts of Hobbs Act robbery, three counts of brandishing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, and conspiring to commit the robberies. Sentencing dates have not yet been set, but each faces a maximum penalty of life in federal prison, according to United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe.

Court records reveal that on July 28, 2025, Correa and Kerr robbed a food truck on Sheldon Road in Tampa, with Correa brandishing a firearm and demanding money while Kerr acted as a lookout. On August 5, 2025, they targeted a gas station in Tampa, where Correa threatened a victim with a pistol, and Kerr again served as a lookout.
