Lakeland Recognizes Beautification Award Winners for April 2026

Residential Award: 202 Pinehurst Street

Yvonne M. McShay won recognition for her exceptionally well-maintained yard at a time when most yards ‘do not look beautiful right now because of the freeze we just had’ said Stacy Smith, Lakeland horticulturist.

McShay said she was very surprised but remembering Earth day and how important it is to maintain and be consistent with the yard, she accepted the award.

Commercial Award: Wabash Self Storage – 601 N. Wabash Avenue

Smith praised the property for its native plants and the abundance of tree plantings including live oaks and magnolias which will sequester carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Eric Martin from Affordable Secure Storage accepted the award.
