The Fraternal Order of Police Polk County Lodge #46 and the Polk County Law Enforcement Memorial Fund, Inc., will present the 38th Annual Polk County Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony on Thursday, May 7, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM at the Polk County Law Enforcement Memorial in the Lakeland Veterans Memorial Park. The park is located on Lime Street, between Lake Beulah Drive and the west side of the R.P. Funding Center.
Being added to the list of fallen heroes on the memorial this year will be Sergeant Luther Howard of the Winter Haven Police Department (EOW 12/15/58) and Beverage Agent Sherman David of the Florida Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco (EOW 3/11/87).
Each of the 39 fallen officers will be honored during the Memorial Service “Roll Call of Heroes.” Family members of fallen officers, representatives from various Polk County Law Enforcement and Corrections agencies, public service organizations, and Federal, State, County and Local government agencies will be participating.
