LAKELAND, Florida — The Polk County Sheriff’s Office will join local organizations to honor fallen officers at the 38th Annual Polk County Peace Officers’ Memorial Service on May 7, 2026.
The event, held at the Polk County Law Enforcement Memorial in Lakeland Veterans Park, will pay tribute to 37 law enforcement and corrections officers who died in the line of duty while serving the citizens of Polk County, according to a press release from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. This year’s ceremony will include the addition of two names from the Winter Haven Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms, and Tobacco, for line of duty deaths that occurred in 1958 and 1987, respectively…
