Columbia Borough community weighs-in on possible data center development

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Hundreds of people showed up to a meeting at the fire house in Columbia Borough Tuesday to share their thoughts on the possible development of a data center in the area.

The area where the center could go is in a former air field, just behind the firehouse known as the McGuiness property.

Borough solicitor Evan Gabel shared possible regulations that could go in place.

“There are screening requirements. So they have to have landscaping all the way around that sort of thing,” Gabel said. “And having electricity generation generally on site or using some type of green energy.”…
