Man charged with theft after ‘fabricating’ workplace robbery in Lancaster County: police

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A Lancaster man has been charged with theft after police say he falsely reported a robbery at his workplace.

Caleb Steele, 24, was working as the assistant manager at the Pepperidge Farm Outlet Store when he reported the robbery March 23, the East Lampeter Township Police Department said Monday.

Steele allegedly said he had just closed the store, located at 35 South Willowdale Dr., and as he was leaving, a male approached him and placed a hard object into his back, forcing him back into the store…
