LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — A Lancaster County man charged with neglecting a bleeding dog for several weeks will have his case proceed to county court.
According to the Office of Lancaster County District Attorney Heather Adams, Raymond Jay Petersheim, 40, of East Lampeter Township, waived his preliminary hearing on one count of aggravated cruelty to animals and one count of cruelty to animals.
The Office of the DA said Petersheim is accused of recklessly neglecting the spaniel-type dog by letting her lay in her own bodily fluids for several weeks before bringing her to a veterinary hospital in Manheim Township in February…
