Celtic festival returning to Lancaster County for 2026

QUARRYVILLE, Pa. (WHTM) — Lancaster County’s only Celtic festival is back for 2026.

The Covenanter Scottish Festival and Highland Games will be holding its 13th edition on the grounds of the Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church and the Octorara Covenanter Church in Quarryville on Sunday, Sept. 12.

The festival highlights “the ancient clans that celebrate their heritage” as well as “their contributions to our nation’s history.” This year’s events feature “the Address to a Haggis. Brandywine Dulcimer Fellowship, the Lancaster Sprinners Spinners and Weavers Guild, Sheep (and duck) Herding, Highland Cattle, and the Language Village.”

Athletes from the International Highland Games Federation will be competing in the Junior World Championships for both men and women. Music will be performed throughout the day by the band Across the Pond and the Ceol Neamh Pipe Band, Lancaster County’s “only competition bagpipe and drum band.” The festival will also have a sanctioned competition for solo bagpiping…
