Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire honors former performer through song, sharing of memories

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire is honoring a former performer on Saturday who passed in early August from heart complications while on a cruise in Alaska.

Shannon Jones, also known as former performer Lady Amanda Chase and Shannon Sunflowers, took yearly trips to the Renaissance Fair since she was only five years old, according to Jones’ online journal.

Her mother, Tamara Sweitzer, said on Facebook that Jones was battling four incurable diseases that damaged her lungs and that “she passed because her heart gave out.”…
