Miguel Morciglio-Figueroa, 42 of the 300 block of North Franklin Street, Lancaster City, raped a now 19-year-old woman starting when she was six until she was 15 years old, the DA’s office detailed in the initial release and as Daily Voice previously reported.
During the trial, Morciglio-Figueroa was “determined to be a sexually violent predator by a licensed psychologist,” DA Heather Adams explained in the release noting that “Judge Ashworth accepted that determination, which carries a lifetime sex offender registration requirement.”
“You have victimized an entire family,” Lancaster County President Judge David Ashworth said before ordering the sentence. “I have not heard any contrition or remorse. There is no mistake that you have committed rape of a child.”
Ashworth presided over the trial in October and sentenced him to 38-87 years in prison starting Friday, Feb. 2.
“He waited and chose the times when the victim was alone and vulnerable. It’s an appropriate sentence for what he did. He put the victim through nine years of abject hell,” Assistant District Attorney Benjamin Baker said.
