Mike Love, the band’s co-founder, lead-singer, and main lyricist, wrote the lyrics to their first hit, ‘Surfin” in 1961. The Beach Boys’ impact on music has been recognized. They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1988. In 2001, they received The Recording Academy’s Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award.
