On Monday at 2:15 p.m. the National Weather Service issued an updated winter storm watch valid for Tuesday between 2 a.m. and 1 p.m. for Adams, York and Lancaster counties. The weather service comments, “Heavy snow possible. The heaviest snow will likely fall between 6 am and 10 am Tuesday, with potential high impacts on the morning commute from 1 to 2 inch per hour snowfall rates. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 5 inches possible, and the highest amounts likely north of the Turnpike and west of Interstate 83 and the lowest amounts across far southeastern York and Lancaster counties. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph from the north to northwest Tuesday morning.”
