Lancaster County man allegedly stole vehicle, hits two people on his birthday; police

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A man allegedly stole a vehicle and hit two pedestrians plus a parked car in a Lancaster County diner parking lot on Sunday, which was also his birthday, court documents show.

Houston Williams Jr., who turned 53 on Nov. 10, of East Hempfield, allegedly stole a 2005 GMC Savanna that was just parked and began driving away along Columbia Avenue around 4:30 a.m., the charges filed by East Hempfield Township Police state.

Police say Williams drove into the parking lot of the Columbia Diner and allegedly struck a person, crashed into a parked vehicle, and then hit a second person. Police said he then struck a road sign and the vehicle became undrivable.

Afterward, Williams got out of the vehicle and ran but was later found in Manor Township, thanks to a witness, police said.

The charges show that the two pedestrians who were struck suffered broken bones and contusions.
