Lancaster swears in new officer

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) — Lancaster swore in a new police officer.

Alexander Lewis, a 29-year-old from Long Island, already served five years with the NYPD.

Lewis wanted to find a spot where he could settle down and start a family. He thinks his experience will pay off in the Red Rose City.

“I’m hoping that I can integrate all those skills and tools that I have in my toolbox here into the city and better help the community here with crime and just in general issues that quality of life issues that are so common in most big cities now,” Lewis said.

Lancaster has just over 100 officers and its target is to have 128
