The crash happened when the truck collided with the bridge, which has an 11-foot, 1-inch clearance, over Main Street on Wednesday, Nov. 13. Surveillance footage from The Valley Tavern on Cherry Street captured the impact.
York County officials have since closed the bridge to all train traffic on the Northern Central Railway after observing a noticeable bow in the tracks above. However, the bridge remains safe for pedestrians and cyclists using the York County Rail Trail and does not pose a threat to passing vehicles below, according to a Facebook post from Seven Valleys Borough.
The bridge, owned by York County, will require repairs, though a timeline has not yet been determined. Seven Valleys Mayor Douglas Wagner stated that the borough is in direct communication with the county’s public works department and assured residents that repair costs will not fall on local taxpayers.

The roadway below the bridge is maintained by PennDOT, while the borough is only responsible for the storm sewer and sidewalk under the structure. Borough officials pledged to keep the public informed as more details about the repairs emerge.
