Police reminder: Warming up your car in the morning could give thieves a tempting target

LEBANON, Pa. – As winter temperatures plummet in Central Pennsylvania, it’s tempting for drivers to warm up their cars before leaving for their morning commute. One local police department issued a reminder Thursday that “puffers” — vehicles left running while unlocked and unattended to warm up in the winter — are tempting targets for thieves who are on the lookout for the telltale “puff” of smoke from an exhaust pipe.
