Steelton-Highspire School District equips buses with cameras to record reckless drivers

(WHTM) — A Dauphin County school district is getting new technology in hopes of protecting students in the future.

All of Steelton-Highspire School District’s buses are now equipped with cameras that automatically record reckless drivers who go around stopped buses. The district partnered with the national company “Bus Patrol,” which works with local police to share photos and cite drivers. Each violation could result in a $300 fine, and the program pays for itself.
