Person killed in York County fire identified through dental records

YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — Dental records helped identify the person who died in a York County house fire this month, the coroner’s office said.

Jeffrey Franek, 65, of Hellam Township, was identified Tuesday by a report from the coroner’s office as the victim who died in the fire in the 5500 block of River Drive on March 4.

Officials found the victim’s identity weeks after the fatal fire by using dental records, the report states. Franek’s cause and manner of death are awaiting results from an autopsy.
