‘They Did Nothing Wrong’: Fundraiser Launched After Cows Killed, Horse Shot In Lancaster

A fundraiser has been launched to support Lancaster County farmers after a disturbing string of livestock shootings left several cows dead and a horse wounded, organizers and Pennsylvania State Police said.

Friends of the victims say the shootings happened around 3 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, when someone opened fire on pastured animals at two farms roughly seven miles apart. In total, at least four cows were killed, and two others were shot multiple times. A horse shot in the face has also survived.

“These are our customers, our neighbors and our friends,” wrote Ethan Wentworth and Rusty Herr, who launched the campaign through GiveSendGo. “These are innocent farmers and animals that someone(s) targeted for their own sickening reasons. They did absolutely nothing wrong.”…
