First responders thanked after missing 11-year-old autistic child found safe

HARRISBURG, Pa. — On the evening of Sunday, March 30, the City of Harrisburg attempted to locate a missing 11-year-old non-verbal, autistic child that went missing near Cameron Street and the Greenbelt.

Two hours later, the child was found, and a statement was released thanking Harrisburg and Dauphin County law enforcement for their fast response to the situation.

Members of Harrisburg’s 3rd Platoon and Fire Department quickly jumped into action. Swatara Township Police and Harrisburg’s Critical Response Team also deployed drones that used thermal imaging technology, while Pennsylvania State Police sent in a helicopter…
