2 dead after taxi crashes on US 22 in Dauphin County, police say

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) – Two people are dead after a crash on US 22 in Lower Paxton Township that has the area closed off Friday evening.

A Lower Paxton Township Police officer at the scene confirmed a taxi and van crashed on Jonestown Road by the AutoZone store around 4:30 p.m. The taxi continued and eventually crashed into a wall.

The driver of the taxi, identified by police as 65-year-old man, and a passenger, also a man, died from the crash, police say. A woman who was also a passenger in the taxi was injured and taken to the hospital.

The driver of the van was not injured, and police say they are cooperating.
