GoggleWorks schedules Iron Pour Festival [Spotlight]

The GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, 201 Washington St., Reading, is turning up the heat for its Iron Pour Festival, an electrifying evening of fire, metal and artistry on April 26 from 3-9 p.m.

This free-admission, rain-or-shine event promises a thrilling experience for adults and young creatives alike, featuring live demonstrations, food, music and, of course, molten metal reaching 3,000 degrees F.

As part of GoggleWorks’ 20th anniversary celebration, this year’s Iron Pour Festival will be bigger and bolder than ever. At the heart of the event, Pour Master Brian Glaze will lead the charge, overseeing the pouring of 2,000 pounds of molten iron — a spectacle of heat, precision and artistry.

“An event like the Iron Pour Festival has such wide appeal, and shows that art is for everyone — even those who don’t think of themselves as artsy,” said Ginger Kunkel, president of Tompkins Community Bank’s Pennsylvania market. “It’s simply the creation of something new that didn’t exist before. The fact that our entire community can join in to witness this molten metal creation right in our downtown is such a cool concept and one that Tompkins is proud to help bring to life.”…
