Lancaster man sentenced up to 20 years for shooting, ‘nearly killing’ ex-girlfriend: DA

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A Lancaster City man has been sentenced up to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to shooting a woman multiple times, according to the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office.

Dervin Mateo-Berrios, 51, plead guilty to charges of criminal attempt of first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated assault on April 3. Mateo-Berrios was also sentenced to pay $147,500 in restitution to the victim.

Officials report that on June 27, 2024, Mateo-Berrios had shot the victim at his home on the 600 block of Ocean Avenue just after 9:30p.m. The victim said Mateo-Berrios, her ex-boyfriend, shot her multiple times in the kitchen of the home…
