Man facing eviction for causing problems at apartments fatally shot neighbor, killed self: DA

A 62-year-old man set to be evicted from his apartment Friday after causing numerous problems and refusing offers of assistance shot his neighbor, killed himself and set his home on fire, according to officials.

Duane Ulmer had not boxed up any of his belongings even though he was aware of the eviction, officials said. Instead, he went to his neighbor’s apartment, just a few feet down from his own, and fired through the neighbor’s window at 4 a.m., before any eviction proceedings had begun, according to the Lebanon County District Attorney…
