4,000 birds found dead in misdirected shipment from Lancaster County hatchery

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — After a Lancaster County hatchery mailed a shipment of 10,000 birds destined for locations across the country, the shipment was found in Delaware—and 4,000 of the birds were dead.

On May 2, the Delaware Department of Agriculture received a call from a USPS processing and distribution center in Delaware regarding multiple undeliverable boxes of baby birds.
