Manheim area in Lancaster County warns residents of overflowing sewer system

MANHEIM, Pa. — According to the Manheim Area Water & Sewer Authority in Lancaster County, ongoing flooding conditions have caused extremely high volumes of incoming flow, and their wastewater treatment plant is operating at maximum capacity.

Customers in low-lying areas or those with basement plumbing are being told that they may experience sewer backups or slow drains, which is a result of excess stormwater entering the system during downpours.
