Lititz, PA — Lititz Springs Park was almost entirely submerged by flood water after storms touched down in Lancaster County on Monday and into Tuesday.
Sidewalks that are normally cleared as nice walking paths were fully underwater, and ducks were being carried by the rushing water. A water mark on one of the gazebos in the park showed that the water levels were much higher just hours before.
Ken Arnold manages the grounds at the park, and he said although the water level has lowered since the peak of the overnight storm flooding, it is still going to be a large task for crews to clean up before the park hosts its annual Fourth of July event on Friday.
“Each year we have the queen of candles celebration, and we put the candles over the stream, we just lost everything we put up, so we did save it so tomorrow we’ll see what we can do but it all depends on the level of the water,” said Arnold…
