Multiple houses hit by gunfire in Lancaster

Residents along South Christian Street and Union Street were jolted awake late Saturday evening as multiple rounds rang out across Lancaster City neighborhoods. According to a press release issued by the Lancaster City Bureau of Police, officers were first dispatched at approximately 10:00 p.m. on July 18, 2025, following reports of shots fired at the intersection of South Christian Street and Chester Street. When officers arrived, they discovered shell casings scattered across the pavement and confirmed that both a parked vehicle and a nearby residence in the 400 block of South Christian Street had been struck by gunfire, though miraculously, no injuries were reported.

Just twenty minutes later, at around 10:20 p.m., Lancaster police responded to a second call for shots fired—this time in the 1200 block of Union Street. Upon arrival, investigators again located numerous shell casings and documented that a home’s exterior had sustained multiple bullet impacts. Once more, there were no injuries, and residents in that block escaped physical harm.
