Pennsylvania To Deploy Wildland Firefighters Out West

Pennsylvania is deploying wildland firefighters to assist with ongoing wildfire efforts in the Western United States. The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is sending a team to Colorado, where several fires have already consumed thousands of acres. The group gathered in Swatara Township, Dauphin County, on Saturday (July 19) to prepare for their journey.

According to Seth Cassell, director of the DCNR Bureau of Forestry, this is the second team Pennsylvania has sent to help combat the increasing number of wildfires in the west. The team began their two-day drive to Colorado on Sunday (July 20)…
