Tragic loss of Reading Canteen volunteer highlights importance of mental health resources

READING, Pa. – Family and friends of a longtime volunteer for the Reading Fire Department’s canteen are speaking out about mental health resources and are encouraging others to seek help if they find themselves experiencing a crisis.

“He wanted to help the community. Firefighting, helping firefighters, or whatever. He was that kind of guy,” recalled Ramon Acevedo with the Reading Canteen.
